Local Car Parks


To unload vehicles or for accessible Parking (for Wheel chair users) go down Coprolite Street towards the river and immediately turn right into the Car Parking area.
NOTE – DO NOT PARK in the Car Park immediately opposite the Venue (next to the new “Hold” – as this is for University and College Students ONLY – there are CCTV Cameras! If you do you may get a fine!!!

The nearest Car Parks are in the Duke Street Area, in the which passes the rear of the University Waterside Buildings.
The Duke Street Parking charge is £1.20 per hour or £5.50 all day. I understand it jumps from £1.20 to £5.50 after the first hour.
The next nearest Car Park is the Athena Car Park IP3 0DT. This is a small 94 place covered Car Park, being under a large Building
Costings are:

1 hour – 70p
2 Hours - £1.40
3 Hours – £2.10
4 hours -  £2.80
5 hours - £3.50

The Car Park Closes at 20:00 until the following morning!

Other nearby Car parks:
Off Rope Walk – (a turning off St Helens) –The Car park is actually in the short Regents Street, so look for this road name. Pay and Display £3 for all day at Weekends. To get to the Event – Walk towards the University (Waterfront) walking through Suffolk New College)
St Peters Dock Short Stay Car Park Adjacent to Stoke Bridge – at the other (inland end) of the Waterfront. Up to 1 hr: £1.30, Up to 2 Hr: £2.60 Up to 3 Hr: £3.90 Maximum stay £5 hours at £6.50

Off the Circular Road that goes around the Docks: Theses are signed reasonably well
Turret Lane Car Park £1.20 per hour, £4.20 all day. About a 10 minute walk from the University.

Total Car Park (on the right) On the right just before some Pedestrian Traffic Lights £4.50 all day
Just past Fore Street Pedestrian Crossing lights is the “Fore Street Pool” Short Stay Car Park.
£1 per hour, maximum stay 5 hours for £4.50

If coming by Train……

Walking is about 1.5 miles… Just leave the Station….. Turn Right, and, keeping on the Left, follow the footpath. You will eventually come to Stoke Bridge. Cross over to where all the Boats can be seen – with the University in the Far Distance on the Left of the water.
Follow the Dockside path on the Left……….. for about ¼ mile

For using buses – get a Bus from the Station forecourt to the Cattle Market Bus Station OR The Sailmakers (which used to be called Tower Ramparts)
Town Buses from either place – (“Sailmakers” or “The Cattle Market”) numbered 1, 2, 3 or 4 ALL Pass the University

If coming by Bus .....

If coming from Felixstowe… by Bus All Felixstowe Buses 75, 76 and 77 Come into the Town Spring Road/ St Helens.
Get off the Bus at “The Dove” Pub – (just past St Helens Church on the Right), and turn left and walk towards the University / Waterfront – about a 5 minute walk.
Where you got off the Bus is where you can get the Bus back to Felixstowe
If coming from Woodbridge, Aldeburgh, Rendlesham by Bus
Directions. All Buses into Ipswich also go down St Helens.
Get off the Bus at “The Dove” Pub – (just past St Helens Church on the Right), and turn left and walk towards the University / Waterfront – about a 5 minute walk.
To get the return Bus – aim for the bottom end of either Woodbridge Road or get a town bus 1, 2, 3 or 4 at the Bottom of Bishops Hill and go to the Cattle Market Bus Station.
