The society offers a Search Service of the following indexes
How to apply
Baptism Index (1650-1900*)
The available parishes, and the years covered, are given on the following listings. This is updated as new parishes are completed & before some are published.
A basic Search is for one surname (plus variants) and for up to 30 entries. Any additional entries can be purchased. The search can be restricted by specifying a forename and/or the forenames of parents. You may specify any or all of the available parishes.

Marriage Index (1650-1837)
The available parishes cover most of Suffolk, although some are still to be checked & published. A basic search is for one surname and for up to 30 entries; Any additional entries can be purchased.

Burial Index (Start - 1900)
It is now virtually complete and covers 592 Burial Grounds and over 1,312,000 entries.
A basic search is for one surname (including variants) and for up to 12 pages. Any additional entries can be purchased. A basic search is £3.00.
Please specify if the search is for the whole county or up to four named burial places.
The burial grounds, including years covered, and abbreviations, are given on the following lAdobe PDF file.

Monumental Inscriptions
The charge for this search is £3 per surname. Note that only certain churchyards are available and NOT the whole county. The available churchyards for searches..

How to request a search
Payment can be made by credit card or PayPal using our shop.
- Contact the search co-ordinator by email to check on the number of enties that will be required for the search. You will need to quote the suname you are searching for. The following are the contact details for the various search services.
- The coordinator will give you a price for the search you requested
- Pay for the basic search and any extras needed via
- the online shop
- Post - to Publications Officer at the address here. Cheques should be made payable to S.F.H.S. Publications Ltd.
- Results are sent by email but it you need them posted please include with your letter an self-addressed stamped C4 (A4) envelope or the minimum postage of Large Letter Rate (6 IRCs if overseas).
