The Burial index covers the entries for all the extant registers entries that we have access to, for every parish up to 1900 for the whole county. The actual period varies from parish to parish dependent upon the survival of the original registers.The actual dates for each parish are given in the detailed description for each CD listed below.
Now available as Issue 2 which has additional entries transcribed since Issue 1 and contains some 1,227,000 burial entries burials.
Our Burial indexes are compiled from the original parish registers against which all entries on the CD have been double-checked and so are of high quality and dependability.
There are two different orders of index to help make your searches easier.
- Grouped by Surname and Forename
- Grouped by Surname then Parish
Each index entry shows the deceased's Surname and Forename, Abode, Date of Burial, Age, Burial Place, and Additional Notes recorded against the entry e.g.Parent's Name, Address if in the register.
The index is presented as an Adobe PDF file which is fully searchable and bookmarked at regular intervals to further facilitate your searches. Individual pages can be printed from the indexes.
